The Seal of Civic Readiness:  A NEW Graduation Seal on Your Diploma. 

Get recognized for all your hard work grades 8-12!     

What is the Seal and Why Should I Get It? 

  • Starting in 8th grade, you earn POINTS (and ALL of you have some points already) towards your seal
  • Some of your extracurricular activities (like Peer Leadership or Student Council) and volunteer work (like Scouts or Interact) give you points
  • You get a special cord to wear and recognition in the graduation program
  • Build your resume→ great for scholarships, jobs, internships, and college apps☆You need 6 total points: at least 2 points each column (you can earn points more than once and most of the points are earned IN CLASS)

☆Every senior already has at least 2 points for US History and Global Regents exam exemptions and will complete 4 years of Social Studies - you’re halfway there! 

☆Mrs. Horn will help you the whole way through. Email her at hornl@pcsdny.orgHow do I get Started??? A School Messenger with a quick survey will be going out so we can start counting your points--be on the lookout for it!

 

El Sello de Preparación Cívica:  UN NUEVO Sello de Graduación en su Diploma.  ¡Obtenga reconocimiento por todo su arduo trabajo en los grados 8-12!   

¿Qué es el sello y por qué debo obtenerlo? 

  • A partir del 8.° grado, ganas PUNTOS (y TODOS ya tienen algunos puntos) para tu sello.
  • Algunas de tus actividades extracurriculares (como Liderazgo entre compañeros o Consejo estudiantil) y trabajo voluntario (como Scouts o Interact) te dan
  • puntoscordón para usar y reconocimiento en el programa de graduación
  • Cree su currículum→ excelente para becas, trabajos, pasantías y aplicaciones universitarias

☆ Necesita 6 puntos en total: al menos 2 puntos (puede ganar puntos más de una vez y la mayoría de los puntos se ganan EN CLASE)

☆Cada estudiante de último año ya tiene al menos 2 puntos para las exenciones de los exámenes de Historia de EE. UU. y Regentes globales: ¡está a mitad de camino!
