DISTANCE LEARNING PROTOCOL, IF NEEDED:
In the event of a long-term school closure, all homework and other assignment details for students in USH11 will be posted on their USH11 Google classroom page. https://classroom.google.com/
My expectation would be that students would complete the assignments/watch any videos/work in their review books as requested in order to fully engage in their education. Students will be responsible for the content of any assignments that I post, and may be assessed on those assignments during a closure and/or after their eventual return to school--so please take this work seriously. (For example, if I ask you to watch a video and take notes on it to ensure comprehension, I may collect those notes and/or you may have a quiz on that topic once we get back.) If there are any questions please email me at schoenbergs@pcsdny.org .
Grade 11: United States History and Government
Grade 11 begins with the colonial and constitutional foundations of the United States and explores the government structure and functions written in the Constitution. The development of the nation and the political, social, and economic factors that led to the challenges our nation faced in the Civil War are addressed. Industrialization, urbanization, and the accompanying problems are examined, along with America’s emergence as a world power, the two world wars of the 20th century, and the Cold War. Students explore the expansion of the federal government, the threat of terrorism, and the place of the United States in an increasingly globalized and interconnected world.
I look forward to working with you all to make this year a success, and to foster an appreciation for our great nation and its history. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me during schools hours via either:
